West Suffolk Council Grants £900 to Enhance Disability Football Sessions

The New Croft Foundation is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a generous grant of £900 from West Suffolk Council. This grant will significantly contribute to the Foundation's mission of providing inclusive and accessible football sessions for all.

With the support of this grant, the foundation will be able to provide new equipment and secure additional space on their 3G pitch, facilitating Accessible Football Sessions and Comets, programmes dedicated to disability football. The new equipment will include sensory items such as fidget toys, foam balls, and visual boards, to help ensure that individuals with diverse needs can actively participate in football activities with ease and comfort.

Moreover, the grant enables the foundation to expand on its commitment to health & wellbeing as well as expanding the disability provision by offering an additional two sessions a week tailored to 14-21-year-olds with special educational needs.

"The impact of this grant on our local community cannot be overstated," remarked Lois Balfour, Head of The New Croft Foundation. "There is a clear demand for increased recreational activities, especially within our SEN, disability, and girls' provisions. This funding will allow us to enhance our programmes and better support the diverse needs of individuals in our town."

The New Croft Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to West Suffolk Council for their generous support, which will enable the foundation to continue its vital work in promoting inclusivity and accessibility in sports.
