The New Croft Foundation is delighted to announce the appointment of Craig Millar as its new Football Development Officer.

Craig officially joined the Foundation last week where he will take the lead on delivering and developing community football programmes and supporting our youth club provision here at The New Croft. His appointment ensures continued strength and consistency within the Foundation as it maintains its commitment to delivering meaningful opportunities for young people across Haverhill and the wider community.
Craig brings with him a highly specialised coaching background, currently undertaking his UEFA B Licence, and extensive experience in grassroots academy and senior football environments. He arrives following a successful three-year tenure with the Ipswich Town Foundation and the Ipswich Town Women U21 squad where he supported the growth of young players in a high-performance setting.
In his new role Craig will oversee the planning, delivery and growth of all football, education and health & wellbeing activities within our local community as we look to positively impact more peoples lives in the coming year.
Craig said on his appointment “I am incredibly excited to be joining The New Croft Foundation. From the very beginning it was clear that my values and the vision here aligned perfectly. I believe that high standards belong at every level of the game and I saw this as a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the community.
For me sport is a powerful vehicle for developing life skills. A brilliant tactical model fails if the player feels unsupported. I am looking forward to creating an environment where children feel inspired and can absorb new skills naturally feeling genuinely excited to take part learn and grow."
Peter Betts Trustee added “ The appointment of a forward thinking new development officer that meets the values of The New Croft Foundation was critical for its ongoing development, Craig has excellent experience in this field following a successful period at Ipswich Town Foundation which has had significant growth in the last five years and provided its local community with a fantastic service. I have no doubt Craig will provide much need energy and support to the continued growth and delivery of the Foundation community programmes and will continue to inspire and provide people of all ages opportunities. We are extremely excited to welcome Craig to The New Croft Foundation and cannot wait to see him making a positive impact".
