All of our education provision is in conjunction with Juniper Sports, a proud independent training provider that has been operating for over 40 years. Juniper Sports provides an established curriculum for students to achieve their academic goals. There are no tuition fees for students aged 16-18.​ Juniper Sports are rated as GOOD by Ofsted in all areas of provision.​

Our Courses
Over the two years, students will complete the NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity. Learners will complete the Level 3 Diploma in year one and then ‘top up’ to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in year two.


NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity

This course does not include written exams
The NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity is a full-time 2-year course, designed for individuals aged 16 and above. This course offers comprehensive training in the core principles, knowledge, and practical skills needed for a career in the sport and physical activity industry.
This qualification also helps learners develop versatile, transferable skills, supporting progression into employment, apprenticeships, or higher education in a sport-related or a different sector in line with career aspirations.

The course covers key areas such as sports coaching, leadership, exercise and health, sport psychology, and nutrition. Learners will also develop practical skills through projects like organising sports events, analysing performance, and completing work experience in the industry, gaining real insight into careers in sport and physical activity.

The NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity will provide the following UCAS points:
P – 48, M – 96, D – 144, D* – 168


NCFE Level 3 Diploma (504) in Sport & Physical Activity

This course does not include written exams
The NCFE Level 3 Diploma (504) in Sport & Physical Activity is a one-year, full-time course for learners aged 16+. It builds essential skills and knowledge for careers in sport, while also preparing students for further study, apprenticeships, or employment.
Topics include anatomy and physiology, fitness training, sports coaching, and practical sport, making it an ideal pathway to the Level 3 Extended Diploma and beyond.

Students of Haverhill Football Academy will start on this course and then progress onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma in year two.
Who needs to take English and/or Maths?
All learners who have not achieved a grade 4-9 GCSE (or equivalent) in English and/or maths will have to study this as part of their programme.
If you have achieved a grade 4-9 in English/Maths, you do not have to undertake this element of the programme.
Academy entry requirements
​We recommend that applicants have five GCSE's, including either English or Maths.
However, we assess each application on an individual basis, taking into account a student’s overall potential, commitment, and suitability for the course.
